AKGEC Hosts NSAM 2025: A National Confluence of Innovation in Additive Manufacturing

Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College (AKGEC), Ghaziabad, successfully hosted the National Symposium on Additive Manufacturing (NSAM 2025) on March 26, 2025, under the aegis of the Center of Excellence for Additive Manufacturing. The event was organized in collaboration with the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing (NCAM), the Additive Manufacturing Society of India (AMSI), and sponsored by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU)  and I-Hub, Lucknow. The symposium served as a powerful platform for innovation, technology, and collaboration, bringing together leading experts, researchers, and professionals driving the future of 3D printing in India.

The event was inaugurated by distinguished guests including Prof. S.K. Kak, Former Vice Chancellor of MTU (Chief Guest); Dr. L. Jyothish Kumar, President of AMSI (Guest of Honor); Mr. Jaspreet Sidhu, CEO of NCAM Hyderabad (Guest of Honor), who also delivered a compelling keynote address; Dr. Bhavesh Kumar Chauhan, Dean R&D, AKTU (Special Guest); and Dr. R.K. Agarwal, Director General of AKGEC. Their insightful addresses set the tone for a day filled with thought leadership and futuristic dialogue.

Following the inaugural ceremony, the symposium featured three focused sessions. The first session explored the role of additive manufacturing in the automotive industry, with expert speakers from Stratasys, Wipro 3D, AMACE Solutions, Phillips Additive and Paanduv Applications. The third session, centered around healthcare, highlighted how 3D printing is transforming patient care, with contributions from specialists representing Aakash Healthcare, AIIMS, Osteoskill, SLM Solutions, and Formlabs. The second session delved into the applications of AM in drones and aerospace, featuring panelists from ISRO, ARCI, AMSI, Gamma Rotors, and MNNIT. In addition to technical sessions, live demonstrations of metal and polymer 3D printing provided participants with hands-on exposure to the latest developments in additive manufacturing.

The event concluded with a high-level roundtable discussion on India’s position in the global additive manufacturing landscape, exploring strategies to bolster the country’s leadership in this transformative sector. NSAM 2025 proved to be a tremendous success, thanks to the collective efforts of all partners, speakers, panelists, and organizing members.
