The National Centre for Additive Manufacturing (NCAM) is a company registered under Section 8(1) of the Companies Act 2013. The NCAM is established by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India and ITE&C Department, Govt. of Telangana in partnership with Industry. It is conceptualised with a vision to create and enable a sustainable ecosystem for product innovation in India with emphasis on research, design, development, and testing through collaborative efforts between academia, industry and government using the disruptive technology of Additive Manufacturing.
The NCAM will nurture the growth and development of the Additive Manufacturing ecosystem in the country and it will be a physical centre located in Hyderabad equipped with state of art AM infrastructure, office and incubation space, etc. The core objectives of the National Centre are mentioned in the Annexure.
NCAM intends to engage One Position of Graduate Engineer Trainee (AM Technician) for the production department. Here’s a breakdown of those roles and some key responsibilities:

Roles of a Graduate Engineer Trainee – GET (AM Technician)
Technical Support:
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of additive manufacturing equipment (e.g., 3D printers).
- Help troubleshoot technical issues related to additive processes.
Process Development:
- Participate in the development and optimization of additive manufacturing processes.
- Support the creation and improvement of workflows that enhance productivity and quality.
Quality Assurance:
- Assist in the implementation of quality control measures to meet production specifications.
Conduct inspections and testing of manufactured parts to ensure compliance with standards.
Research and Development:
- Collaborate with senior engineers in researching new materials and technologies in additive manufacturing.
- Assist in testing prototypes and evaluating their performance.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of production processes, machine parameters, and material usage.
- Prepare reports on project progress, test results, and other key metrics.
Responsibilities in Detail
- Operating Equipment: Familiarized with the operation of various additive manufacturing machines like DMLS, SLS, Composite & 3D scanner
- Material Handling: Capable for handling various different materials used in additive manufacturing metal and polymers
- Familiarity of handling used powders, Material changing over of machines in both Metal and polymer
- Experience is handling SOPs of the OEMs
- Data Analysis: Analyse data collected from production runs to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM): Understand design principles that facilitate effective use of additive manufacturing technologies.

- A degree in Engineering
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with CAD software and simulation tools.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think critically and resolve issues effectively.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for reporting and team collaboration.
